Belvedere-Tiburon Library Remodel

September 14, 2022

The Belvedere-Tiburon Library recently underwent a 17 million dollar remodel, and is now open to the public.
The remodel was aimed to create “something for everyone”, and includes everything from a quiet nook for reading, to the latest in digital equipment and related instruction. Libraries have always been a focal point for communities to gather around books, ideas, authors, and to provide a great way to access literary culture. As times have changed, digital formats, technology, and community needs have evolved and the new library renovation takes all these factors into account.
The library has a founder’s room, staff workspaces, outdoor gathering spaces, a dedicated teen library and hangout space, digital equipment, 3D printer, and virtual reality equipment. Noah Griffin, Tiburon Town Council Member, quoted author and activist Bryant McGill: “People are living books. The real library of life is community.” He added, “In Tiburon we have both.”

The new library adds an appealing dimension to Tiburon-Belvedere, and is a welcome adjunct to the distinguished schools, both public and private, in the area.
